Getting Started

Set up Tradewink in three steps

Connect a broker, turn on auto-execute, and tell the agent which tickers you care about. ~10 minutes to a fully autonomous setup.

Non-custodial — keys never leave Fernet-encrypted storageWorks on web + Discord — pick either

How does Tradewink work?

Tradewink is a non-custodial AI trading platform — your broker keeps custody of your money, and Tradewink places orders through your broker's API the moment a high-conviction signal fires. The agent runs 75+ concurrent scan loops across earnings, options flow, intraday momentum, regime detection, and dark pool prints, scores every candidate with risk-checked position sizing, then either dispatches a signal or executes it automatically. Three things need to be configured before the platform can act on a signal: a broker connection, auto-execute, and a watchlist.

Step 1

Connect your broker

Tradewink is non-custodial — your money stays in your broker account. We only need API keys to place orders on your behalf.

Use the web dashboard

Paste API key + secret on the Brokers tab. We encrypt them with Fernet (PBKDF2-derived key) before they touch the database.

Open broker settings
Or in Discord
/trading setbroker alpaca

Pick from 13 brokers — Alpaca, Tradier, IBKR, Schwab, Webull, Moomoo, TradeStation, tastytrade, NinjaTrader, Robinhood, Coinbase, Kraken, Binance.US.

Without a broker connected the agent can only show signals — not act on them. Connecting takes ~2 minutes.

Step 2

Turn on auto-execute

Auto-execute lets the agent place orders the instant a high-conviction signal fires — risk-checked, position-sized, and capped by your per-trade limits.

Use the web dashboard

Set per-trade $ cap, daily loss limit, and max open positions on the same page. The default risk profile is conservative — tighten or loosen as you go.

Toggle auto-execute
Or in Discord
/settings set auto_execute true

Pair with `/settings set max_position_size 500` and `/settings set daily_loss_limit 200` for a tight first-week guardrail.

Trial users who enable auto-execute on day 1 see ~5× more signal value vs. those who only watch the feed.

Step 3

Focus the scanner on tickers you care about

A watchlist tells the agent which tickers to prioritize. Watchlisted names get +15 score boost in the screener and are scanned first every cycle.

Use the web dashboard

Drop in 5–20 tickers. You can mix stocks, ETFs, options underlyings, and crypto symbols.

Build your watchlist
Or in Discord
/watchlist add TSLA NVDA SPY BTC

Use `/watchlist show` to view, `/watchlist remove TSLA` to drop a ticker.

Without a watchlist the agent scans a 50+ default universe. A focused list cuts noise and surfaces setups in names you actually want to trade.

After setup

Once the three steps are done, the agent runs autonomously across 75+ concurrent loops — scanning earnings, options flow, regime, intraday momentum, and dark pools — and ships signals (and orders, if auto-execute is on) the moment a setup fires. You'll see every decision and its reasoning in the live feed.

Is Tradewink safe to use? FAQ

How the agent decides, what you control, and what happens if you stop.

How does Tradewink decide when to trade?+

The agent scans every cycle using 75+ concurrent loops — earnings proximity, options flow, intraday momentum, regime detection, dark pool prints, and more. Each candidate is scored, sized using a half-Kelly criterion, risk-checked, and then either dispatched as a signal or executed through your broker if auto-execute is on. Every decision is logged with reasoning in the live feed so you can audit it.

How much money do I need to start?+

There is no Tradewink minimum — the platform works with whatever your broker account holds. Most supported brokers let you start under $1,000; fractional shares and per-trade $ caps mean even small accounts can run the full autopilot loop. The CFTC has warned that AI does not turn trading bots into money machines, so only use capital you can afford to lose.

How long does setup take?+

Most users finish the three steps in under 10 minutes — broker API keys are the longest part if you have to generate them on your broker for the first time.

Do I need to know how to code?+

No. The web dashboard and Discord commands cover everything. Tradewink ships an MCP integration and REST API for power users on Pro and Elite, but they are optional.

Can I run on paper trading first?+

Yes. Most supported brokers ship a paper account (Alpaca, Tradier, tastytrade, Webull, etc.). Connect the paper API keys for the first few days, then swap to live once you trust the signal flow.

Will the agent place trades without my permission?+

Only when auto-execute is enabled, and only inside the per-trade and daily limits you set. Every order is logged in the audit log on /signals-dashboard. You can disable auto-execute instantly with `/settings set auto_execute false`.

What happens if I never finish setup before the trial ends?+

Your tier reverts to Free at trial end. Free still gives you the full live signal feed and post-trade reviews — but auto-execution, email/webhook delivery, and broker actions stop until you re-subscribe.

What if I do not use Discord?+

The web dashboard supports everything Discord does — settings, watchlist, broker keys, live signal feed, billing. Discord is optional.
